Frequently Asked Questions


  • In order to guarantee your room reservation, a deposit equal to 50% of your stay is taken at time of booking. The remaining balance is due upon check-in.

  • We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and cash - we do not take personal checks.

  • All room rates are based on double occupancy. Each additional guest is subject to a $20 per person per night surcharge.

  • Guests must be 21+ to reserve a room at The Village Inn. Children 12 and under must be accompanied by a parent at all times while on property.


  • Reservations cancelled within 14-days of your scheduled arrival are subject to penalty charge equal to 50% of the stay.  

  • Reservations cancelled within 48-hours of arrival are subject to a cancellation penalty equal to the entirety of the stay.  

  • Penalties and fees are waived if the room is able to be re-booked.

Arrival + Departure


  • Check-In is from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm.

  • Check-Out time by 11:00 am.

  • We are happy to accommodate later arrivals, however please let us know at least 24-hours in advance.

  • While we can't accommodate late departures, our guests are welcome to use our guest bathrooms to freshen up prior to departure.


  • We pride ourselves on our cleanliness and attention to detail. All guest rooms are thoroughly cleaned before arrival and surfaces are sanitized between guests.

  • Due to COVID-19, we have suspended daily housekeeping services and we will only enter occupied guest rooms by special request. Clean linens and toiletries will be provided to guests staying for multiple nights.

Smoking + Damages



  • Guests will be held responsible for any damages to the property that occur during their stay.  This includes damages from person(s) visiting or staying with guests, as well as their pets. Fees for such damages will be charged to the card on file.

  • We do not permit smoking in guestrooms, inside the building, near/around exterior common areas, by our entrances, or by our gathering spaces.

  • If any guest is suspected of smoking on premises, a minimum of $100 cleaning fee will be applied to the room. Additional charges for damages may be incurred. 

  • Lost Keys are subject to a $25 replacement fee. 

Pet POlicy



Though we are happy to host (well behaved) furry friends, we have a pet fee of $50 to account for the additional cleaning associated with your dog's stay. Please be aware of our Pet Policy:

  • Pets cannot be left unattended in the Inn.

  • You are liable for all damages to the property and for any incidents involving other guests.

  • We do not permit dogs that bark excessively or are aggressive towards strangers or other dogs! We ask that you be considerate of our guests and our historic home!


  • Please be respectful and pick up after your furry friend.

  • We reserve the right to refuse a reservation with a pet at any time.

COVID-19 Travel Policy



Travelers visiting Vermont must adhere to the following guidelines:


  • Travelers visiting VT no longer require testing or quarantine prior to arrival. 

  • The state highly recommends that you carry your COVID-19 vaccine card with you and be prepared to show it when asked.

  • Masks are still required in public spaces for individuals that are unvaccinated.





Due to COVID-19, we will no longer be offering breakfast for our guests.


We are happy to make recommendations for other great breakfast options in the area or guests are welcome to utilize our fully-equipped guest kitchen to prepare their meals.
