East Burke and the surrounding towns have added some fantastic new dining options in recent years! Offering everything from hearty breakfasts to fine dining experiences, there are many great new spots to enjoy on your next trip to the Northeast Kingdom
. As the best place to stay in East Burke, we love sharing our favorite spots with our guests. Whether you’re looking for a cozy café, an upscale dinner, or the best homemade pastries, we’ve got you covered.

One of our favorite new spots in nearby St. Johnsbury is The Buttery. This charming eatery offers a warm and inviting atmosphere with a menu that focuses on fresh, locally sourced ingredients. Their breakfast and lunch selections are always a hit, and their bread comes from the bakery just down the street and is simply divine. Their dinner menu is thoughtful, often rotating and always delicious. Maggie and Gavin, the owners have done an amazing job and have the best wine selection in the area! Whether you’re stopping in for a breakfast and a latte, a lunch pick me up or a relaxing dinner you won’t be disappointed.
For those with a sweet tooth, Auntie Dee Dee’s Bakery in East Burke is a must-visit. This small yet mighty bakery is beloved by all and known for its incredible croissants, scones, and legendary cinnamon rolls. Many of our guests make a stop here as part of their weekend routine before heading out for the day’s adventures. Be sure to go early! There is often a line starting before 9 am and she is only open on the weekends!
If you’re in need of a caffeine boost, The Coffee Cabin in East Burke is a fantastic choice. This cozy little coffee shop serves up expertly crafted espresso drinks, delicious and thoughtful breakfasts, and a welcoming atmosphere. It’s the perfect spot to start your day or take a midday break. Don't sleep on the oatmeal... it's genuinely the best you've ever had!

For dinner, we highly recommend Tomassoni’s Bistro, which is conveniently located just above our very own Hazel’s Taproom. John Tomassoni specializes in pizzas, but has a great grill menu with gyros, fried chicken sandwiches and rotating Italian-inspired dishes made with fresh, high-quality ingredients. After a day of exploring East Burke, there’s nothing better than enjoying a delicious meal with a glass of wine or a craft beer from Hazel’s Taproom downstairs.
Whether you're here for a weekend getaway or a longer stay, these dining spots will make your visit even more memorable.
